Alan Desmond, AuD, CCC-A
Doctor of Audiology/Director
Dr. Desmond is the founder of Blue Ridge Hearing and Balance Clinics, and has been on staff since 1983. He is a nationally recognized expert in the diagnosis and treatment of dizziness and balance disorders. He has authored numerous publications related to the field of audiology, dizziness, balance disorders and vestibular rehabilitation. His booklet, Balance Disorders: A Short Course for the Primary Care Physician, is in its’ third printing and has been widely distributed throughout North America. His first full length textbook, Vestibular Function: Evaluation and Treatment, was released in May of 2004. It has been a bestseller for Thieme Medical Publishers since it’s release, and has become required reading in many Audiology Doctoral training programs. The 2nd edition of his textbook, Vestibular Function: Clinical and Practice Management was released in June 2011. Dr. Desmond is a frequent invited speaker at conferences throughout the United States.

Tara Minnix-Harmon, AuD, CCC-A
Doctor of Audiology
Mrs. Minnix has been on staff since 1997 and holds a Doctorate in Audiology from Lamar University. She is licensed by the state of West Virginia, fellows of the American Academy of Audiology and holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology through the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association.
Sharon Jividen, MS, CCC-A
Audiologist
Mrs. Jividen holds a Master’s Degree in Audiology from Radford University, and is certified by the American Speech and Hearing Association. Mrs. Jividen has over 20 years experience, working in clinics in Beckley, WV and Abingdon, VA.
Donna Shay, MS, CCC-SLP
Speech/Language Pathologist
Ms. Shay has been on our staff since 1985. She holds a Masters Degree in Speech Pathology from West Virginia University, and is certified by the American Speech and Hearing Association.
Holly Meadows, BC-HIS
Hearing Aid Specialist
Ms. Meadows has been on staff since 2000. She is a state licensed and Board Certified Hearing Instrument Specialist.
